Remarkable releases - January 2011
Just a quick list of some remarkable new cc-music I stumbled upon during this month and I enjoyed. This is, of course, not a complete list for everybody, but simply a try not to forget these releases too quickly. Consider it a “list in progress” as I might add some January-releases later, when I’ve found them. If. ;-)

Modern Progmetal on "Honor Thy Drummer - A Tribute...
Do you like modern Progressive Rock? Well, I do, at least most of the time (and the rest of the time I try to convince myself that there are other bands than those useless, cheesy Retro-, Neo- or Whatever-Progbands that produce the most boring music ever).
You don’t have to be a big fan of Dream Theater (which I’m definitely not) or Mike Portnoy (which I’m definitely definitely...

I've Lost - Dissociative Fugue
“Dissociative Fugue” by Bobby Jones aka. I’ve Lost is a release I’ve stumbled upon the last days a couple of times while I was checking 2010-Top-10-lists in some netlabel blogs (namely here and here) where it was praised as one of the best releases of the last year. And oh yes, indeed: This is a remarkable ambient release of tender flowing music, released on the superb...

Benjamin Britten - The Turn of the Screw (1954...
Though I listen to classical music since I was 12 years (or so), I began to discover the world of opera much later. I didn’t like the singing, didn’t like the stories and the whole concept, but while getting deeper and deeper into classical music, I started to listen to some operas, first it was Beethoven’s “Fidelio” (which I still like, although I know that it’s not the best work of my beloved...

The Dwindlers - Dreams
If you’re interested in (good) poetry and music, you really really really should check out the debut release “Dreams” of Washington-based Duo The Dwindlers. It’s available for free streaming and download at the → Feedback Loop Label. This is fascinating, enchanting stuff. And two bonus tracks (really, they are more than just bonus tracks) can be found on their...

Welcome to ... 2/3 a.m.
Welcome to 2/3 a.m., just my little tiny tumblr-thingy where I want to write about some good free music I stumble upon during my excursions in search of the perfect soundtrack of my life.
Let’s see, if I can manage yet another blog … (in addition to my 2 or 3 other blogs).
