Joel Rakes - Auld Lang Syne (Happy and sad version)

I’m not sure whether 2011 was a good year or a bad year for me but either way: This last download for this year fits like a glove. It comes from US-singer/songwriter Joel Rakes.

Here’s what he writes about it:

I recorded two different versions of that-classic-new-years-song-that-nobody-understands-or-knows-the-name-of: “Auld Lang Syne.” The happy version is pretty upbeat and is banjo based. My awesome sister Rebekah sings with me on the track as well. Listen to this one if you had a happy year.

If you’re looking for something a little moodier to represent a bummer year, check out the sad version. I recorded it in one take live and even used my iPhone microphone for part of the recording.

Grab the free download below, listen to good music, be cheerful, be hopeful and … I wish you a truly Happy New Year.
